La gite 'Siege de mines'
is a three storey stone building situated on the ouskirts
of the Cevennes National Park.
Originally built as the offices for a local coal mine.
the building suffered several years of neglect after
a major accident closed the mine in the early 1900s.
Now lovingly renovated by new owner Philippa Holister
the building has been converted to provide two comfortable
gites - one on each of the lower two floors. Both gites
come with all mod cons and provide the perfect base
from which to explore the magnificence of the surrounding
countryside.
Although secluded, the gite is still less than 1 km
away from a medium size town that boasts a variety of
good restaurants, shops and banks. No need for a swimming
pool as the picturesque River Cèze is only 800
metres away!
